Syren's Voice Studio Winter Recital!

2020 was an extraordinary year. We faced crazy challenges, lots of germs, interruptions of daily life routines. It cancelled travel, tours, birthday parties, in person lessons, and visits.
Everything felt a little upside down.
I opened and closed a physical location for our studio.
We all learned how to "Zoom", how to learn music through a screen, how to use audio equipment, how to make a video of ourselves, and how to do our best even if the situation was not ideal.

Students, you did a really good job!
Parents, you did a really good job!

On a personal level, the idea that music is medicine really rang true. On some days, I found it slightly difficult to power up the computer (you know how much I love technology!); but, I did and, after hearing my students sing or play, seeing them show up (sometimes feeling the same way that as I was feeling), seeing a smile, sharing a giggle, etc., the day seemed just a little brighter.
Through music we are not alone. We are all in the same song.
Our togetherness, even in a remote way, creates a different kind of harmony.

I am proud of my students for showing up, for being BRAVE!
I am proud of my students for taking a breath when needed.
In any composition, there are points of high energy and points of rest.
Yes indeed! We are all in the same song.

Enjoy these amazing performances!
I continue to be swept away by these lovely performers! WOOT!!
I am so honored to be their teacher.
Hugs! and Happy Holidays!

Syren's Voice Studio Autumn Recital!
Yes, you read that correctly!
This year is our first Autumn Recital!
Syren's Voice usually hosts three recitals in a year,
Spring, Summer, and Winter. . . . Welcome AUTUMN!

With our stages and music venues closed,
and with things being as they are,
I felt it best to give my students more opportunities
to perform, to set more goals, and
to share their beautiful light with the world.

I am extremely proud of my students.
They haven't had much time to work on these tunes so
this is a good test in bravery and showing up!
They, as usual, exceeded my expectations!
BRAVO!! Woot! Woot!

Enjoy their performances!
Live life like my students:
Be Brave in your daily lives and keep a song in your hearts!

Big love!

Summer Songs!
Even during a pandemic, summer is a very busy season.
High Praise! to my studio roster for all the hard work that took place this summer!
We continued to meet weekly for online lessons.
We looked for ways to be creative in collaboration and discovered strength in being BRAVE!

To all my students:
You keep me spellbound!!
Congrats to all my fine performers!
Thank you for taking risks, finding the magic within the song,
and stepping forward to find your light!
You are all so glorious! I am so proud of you!

Due to the extraordinary circumstances of our times, until we can all safely gather together,
I decided to host our annual Spring Recital online! My students have been attending lessons via Zoom/Skype since March 16, 2020. They continue to work hard, practicing every week, showing up in front of their computer screens to find their voice and perfect their strums.
I am very proud of each and every one of them!

Let’s be honest.
Making a video of yourself is difficult.
The inner critic comes in with a vengeance and it can be very stressful.
I applaud my students for taking the risk, doing the work, and showing up to my challenge.

Thank you for the opportunity to witness you .. Be Brave.

Congratulations with all my heart!
You continue to sweep me off my feet!
