Welcome WINTER!

Autumn has sung her final verse and Winter takes the stage.
Many are not a fan of the cold and the dark but what an important time for nature and our bodies. Hopefully, you will be able to have a little break during this time.
It is important to rest.
In music, if the notes were constant, the listener and player would become tired. Like in language, pauses or rests are used to silence the moment, to help us organize the sounds so we can better understand them. This delivers greater emotion, tells a deeper story, and projects depth. The space between notes or words helps us process and absorb.

Resting our mind and body is just as important. We must take the time to relax, observe, and to even become playful. In the poem, A Visit from St. Nicholas, Clement Clarke Moore writes the vivid line, "..had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap."

The last six weeks have been quite busy for my students and the world! Through all the holiday chaos and celebrations, they worked hard and have delivered these wonderful performances.
I am proud of each and every student.

May you enjoy a pause from the hustle and bustle of life. May you have time to settle your brains, build a snowman (or sing about doing so), and take some time just for you.

This recital was scheduled to take place on the 28th of October but, due to a cold, I had to bump it out one week.  It's now November and wow, the world is alive with color and song!
Here are some amazing performances from my students!
Each recital grows more colorful, just like the trees!
I am always in awe of the creativity that my students conjure.

Summer is about Singing in the Sunshine!
Here are some songs that some BRAVE and TALENTED students have been working on!
I am so proud of all my students. Showing up weekly for lessons, choosing songs,
that may be slighly scary to start, seeing them SHINE with progress makes
me believe that I have the best job in the world!

I hope you are enjoying summer and taking time to SHINE in your world!
Congrats to all my students! I am all smiles because of them!

The First Recital of 2023!
Woot!

Spring is all about new beginnings. It's also about growth and change.
In spring, we learn that starting over or trying something new is possible!
Nature brings back the color to the land and I think it also inspires us to do the same!

These performances are wonderful!
Many of my students met some tough personal goals during these last months
and I am so proud of them. Even through the cold and rain, the blossom returns and breathes vibrantly!

Here's to living vibrantly, loudly, and bravely!
